CARL BENTLEY
- Originally from McDowell, Ky. Currently lives in Indiana.
- Started singing in church at age 5. Learned guitar and wrote first song at age 16.
- 1996, he was seriously injured in an auto accident which almost took his life. He broke numerous bones in his face and ankles. His jaw was wired shut and he was unable to speak (or sing) for months. After his recovery, he returned to singing and formed a band called Carl Bentley and Blue Eagle Band. He also played with the Southern Winds Band.
- 2003, joined a band called Thousand Pounds Of Bluegrass.
- 2004, joined The Indiana Boys.
- 2005, formed a band called Carl Bentley & The Eagle Creek Band, opening for many bluegrass acts such as Larry Sparks, Ralph Stanley II, James King, Melvin Goins and others.
- 2016-2022, took a break from music to coach travel baseball. He also filled in for several bands including Brook Steele and Endless Highway and Kim Robins and 40 Years Late.
- 2023, returned to music by recording a self-titled album (no label). Also formed the Carl Bentley Band: Carl (guitar), Josh Coffey (banjo), Caleb Garrett (bass), Jon Crouch (mandolin).
- 2025, released New Brand of Misery album (no label).
