DAVID JOHNSON

  • From Purlear (near Wilkesboro), North Carolina.
  • A multi-instrumentalist and studio musician who performs primarily gospel music.
  • 1981, formed a band called Dixie Dawn.
  • 1996, released solo project “Wooden Offerings.”
  • 1997, released solo project Praises, Promises and Prayers (Mountain Home). He played all the instruments on both of his solo albums.
  • 1999, won award for Studio Musician of the Year from the Southern Gospel Music Association.
  • 2000, released Many Roads to Home album (Mountain Home).
