COUNTRY HAM

• An old-time string band from the Washington DC area.
• Formed in 1975 by Carl and Judy Pagter.
• The Pagters had homes in both Virginia and California. (Carl worked in Walnut Creek, California and lived there much of the year while Judy lived on the Pagter Farm in Barboursville, Virginia.)
• The band also featured master fiddler Joe Meadows.
• Carl is the founder of the California Bluegrass Association.
• 2023, Carl Pagter died at the age of 89.
